A study of the defects that can occur and the causes likely to be behind them will plainly show that a defect may also be due to a number of causes which, moreover, may have their origin either in the mould or in the process or in both. Therefore, it is not uncommon that an isolated measure will prove ineffective against some defects where a coordinated bundle of corrective actions are needed to cover several phases of the process.
